JOB DESCRIPTION: SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER COUNSELOR

This position reports directly to the Treatment Director and has the authority to carry out all duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree in Addiction Counseling (or related human services field).
Must meet requirements set by the Department of Human Services for SUD treatment programs.
Licensure or eligible for licensure as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. (LADC)
Demonstrated skills in program design, public relations and networking.
Two or more years of experience with CD clientele and mental health clientele preferred.
Knowledge/understanding of 245G (9530.6405 to 9530.6505); MN Statutes – Chapter 245A (Licensing Act), sections 626.556 (Maltreatment of Minors Act) and 626.5572 (VAA Definitions).

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for delivery of programs to adult clientele.
Conduct group therapy for adults, including one family session per week.
Completion of all record keeping duties (individual treatment plans, progress notes, progress reports, discharge summaries etc.)
Marketing of programs to existing primary inpatient facilities.
Conduct bi-monthly DUI Clinic.
Establish a working relationship with referral sources, local AA/NA chapters and other community professionals.
Other duties as assigned.
Coordination of services.
At least 25 percent of a counselor’s scheduled work hours must be allocated to indirect services, including documentation of client services, coordination of services with others, treatment team meetings, and other duties.

Must be free of problematic substance use for at least two years immediately preceding employment and must sign a form attesting to that fact.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
